At-Large Charter Commissioner for the City of Portland, Maine.
My name is Nasreen Sheikh-Yousef; I'm a community organizer and Black Lives Matter activist here in Portland, Maine.
My mission is to improve how our city is structured so that Portland residents have a greater voice in the policy decisions. I intend to play a positive role in evaluating potential changes, assessing the benefits, and presenting a plan to the whole community.
I am an active advocate for justice and equality. Black, Indigenous, and people of color, immigrants, unhoused folks, and the LGBTQ+ communities in Portland are impacted by the city charter. I plan to be a voice for these communities so that all of Portland is represented.
